EV Charging is made easier for Motability Scheme customers with Bonnet
Bonnet has announced that it is working with Motability Operations in a subsidised trial that lets Motability Scheme customers use the Bonnet app to simplify their EV charging. Motability Operations is committed to providing people living with disabilities with worry-free mobility solutions, and as part of the transition to electric vehicles, Bonnet’s aim is to ensure charging is as equitable as possible.
The trial aims to reduce charging anxiety for customers, whether at home, in the community or with on-street public charging.
Charging can be complicated. There are over 45 different charge points operators currently operating across the UK, each with different payment methods and apps. The Bonnet app brings multiple networks together in one app, alongside real-time chargepoint availability info, to make it easier for customers to locate a working chargepoint when they need it – and with one simple membership.
Patrick Reich, co-founder and CEO of Bonnet, said: “We’re pleased to announce that Motability Operations are currently trialling the Bonnet app, to accommodate EV users who are reliant on public charging.
“Bonnet’s mission is to make EV charging accessible for everyone – regardless of where you live and who you are, and we’re confident that the platform will prove to be a key support to Motability Scheme customers – especially as the number of people choosing EVs continues to grow.”
Jonathan Jenkins, Head of Innovation at Motability Operations, said: “Over 40% of customers on the Motability Scheme are estimated to have no off-street parking and are likely to rely on the public charging network. We must find solutions that reduce the complexity of away-from-home charging. Bonnet places simplicity at the heart of their proposition, and we are excited to be working with them to support our customers as they transition to EVs”
