This follows last summer's $1.2 million round
Bonnet’s latest funding round has closed with a $5.5 million backing from investors including Lightspeed, GV and 20VC. Ex-Tesla president Jon McNeill, co-founder of TIER Lawrence Leuschner, founder of Deliveroo Will Shu and Zapp founders Joe Falter and Navid Hadzaad have also invested in the company.
This funding round follows last summer’s $1.2 million investment which saw the company add to the team and expand coverage throughout the UK and Europe. With the latest investment, including participation from existing shareholders APX and Ascension, Bonnet’s plan is to triple our headcount by the end of 2022 and further expand charge point coverage to include the majority of chargers throughout the UK and Europe this year.
Patrick Reich, CEO and co-founder, has said: “The continued support and trust our existing and new shareholders have put into Bonnet brings a huge value-add to the team and will give us the advantage to become the number one charging product for EV drivers globally.”
“Bonnet is continuing to see rapid growth, with thousands of new charge points added each month and incredible uptake from drivers and fleets alike. This year will continue to see the advancement of our tech offering and we can’t wait to put the new features into drivers’ hands.”
Co-founders Patrick and Eliot launched Bonnet in July 2021. Since then, the team has increased from 5 to 15 employees, and we have partnered with some of the most prominent charge point operators in the industry to provide access to more than 50,000+ charge points across the UK and Europe.
Rytis Vitkauskas, Partner at Lightspeed Venture Partners has said; “Lightspeed believes the future of mobility will be green and sustainable as we go from 1-100% of cars being electric in the next 10-20 years. The driver experience of charging and operating EVs will evolve dramatically– we’re excited to partner with Bonnet founders Patrick and Eliot who have a unique perspective on how to bring a next generation, delightful product experience to market while augmenting the efforts of underlying infrastructure providers.”
We at Bonnet are excited to use this opportunity to grow our team, coverage and tech features to continue to offer EV drivers the best charging experience on the market.
